Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha (BJVJ) was initially a national programme of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, organized in Assam in 1992 by the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam.
After completion of the programme, the State Organising Council, BJVJ, Assam was converted into a voluntary society and registered under the Society’s Registration Act, 1860.
BJVJ, Assam has a strong network of District Organizing Councils (DOCs) across all districts of Assam and 236 Local Organizing Councils (LOCs).
The organization actively collaborates with local NGOs and extends networking activities across neighboring North Eastern states.
