Who we are
Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha (BJVJ) was initially a national programme of Department of Science And Technology, Govt. of India that was organized in Assam State by Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Govt. of Assam in 1992. After the programme was over the State Organising Council, Bharat Jan Vigyan Jatha (BJVJ), Assam was converted to a voluntary society and registered under the Society’s Registration Act 1860. The prime objectives of the BJVJ are to promote scientific temper among the masses, use science and technology as a vehicle for socio-economic transformation and building self-reliance, involving mass participation and to use the same as a unifying factor for national regeneration and international understanding

Student activity on capacity building
Student Activity on Robotic application, Mathematics understanding, Day to day life application of Chemistry, Physics etc. using low-cost-teaching methods .
Laboratory to Fields programme
Socio-economics development and capacity building programme for rural communities on Preparation of nursery, Medicinal plant planting at household , Banana plantations, areca nut and coconut plantation , livestock , Horticulture Processing unit at village etc.. Our self-help groups are working well in this field.

Science Exhibition on Wheels
‘Science Exhibition on Wheels’ with working models for Students, Teacher and General Public with enlarge activities like Interaction with Scientist ,Quiz, popular talk, activity base lecture-cum-demonstration, drawing competition etc and publication of hand leaflet/book on targeting basic science education. ‘Science Exhibition on Wheels’ with working models provide an opportunity for students/Teacher to enhance knowledge and qureocity upon the basic Science and developed legends, myths traditions concerning of science. ‘Science Exhibition on Wheels’ with working models programme the principal means that is used for the effective communication of basic science that relates to the basic knowledge enhancement. It is demonstrate unique and exciting ways of scientific method which can understand easily the students and scientific community and able to contribute significantly to a safer, healthier and wealthier world.
Mobile Planetarium
Mobile Planetarium for Popularization of astronomical science among the students and teachers and to recognize that astronomical observations have profound implications for the development of the science, philosophy, culture and the general concept of the universe, understanding the different planet of the solar system.
Teacher workshop for capacity building
Teacher workshops and training for capacity building on different subjects, which is easily demonstrate to students. The workshop and training was on Physics, Chemistry, Microorganisms and activity workshop on Low-cost-teaching –aids , Science –behind-Miracles. The programme was organised among different teacher group in Assam.
Animal and Human health
Animal and Human health programme to create awareness for understanding effect of animal and human health and to knows about the sources or origin of the zoonoses diseases. Improving the hygiene and sanitation of animal and human beings working in farm, slaughter houses, milk production units, feed mills, leather industry, reserves and zoos, marine and fresh water fishery, handling pets, etc. and on adopting preventive measures for communicable diseases from animal to animals/human beings through better understanding of course and effect relationships.

Nature Camp for student and teacher to understand about different natural phenomena along with Tree Plantation at the school campus . Programme organized in different place of North Eastern States.

Road Safety awareness programme through street drama, public meeting, student programme etc. in different Districts of Assam
Science Exhibition and Fair for Student ,Teacher and General Public
The beginning of human civilization has been subject to great curiosity since its formation among the students in particular and the people in general. Science communication is a major activity in enhancing science literacy and promoting public understanding the basic science phanomana and hand to do activities which is applicable in day to day life . Promotional activities such as Science Exhibition and Fair, Science quiz and Olympiads, Essay competitions Interaction with Scientist are complementary to science education. Science Fairs provide an opportunity for students to display the results of their work in science and technology. Exhibitions are the principal means that be used for the effective communication of science that relates to the basic knowledge enhancement. Organised the programme in different Districts of Assam.
